Patchwork & Upcycling Research
For the past few years, I have been exploring upcycled textiles through the techniques and cultural heritages of patchwork. Inspired by symbolism, texture, and color, I work exclusively with fragments of fabrics recycled from local West African–owned tailor ateliers in the north of Paris, mainly using bazin. My compositions mix motifs, materials, and techniques — some become textile objects, others quilt-like works, and some interact with furniture or interior spaces. Each piece carries playfulness, positivity, and narrative, sitting at the intersection of design and art.
I enjoy hand-making, inviting others to join through patchwork workshops, and emphasizing circular economy, respect for ecosystems, and the creation of unique pieces rather than mass editions.
I’ll be updating this page regularly with new experiments and projects.
